All churches are owned by the United Church of Canada and are held in trust by each congregation.

The role of the trustees of the congregation is to safeguard all the assets of the church. This includes the land, building, furniture and fixtures, investments and monies of the church. 

The trustees oversee at the highest level the operations of the church ensuring that the church has the organizational structure and policies and procedures to run the church.
