Volunteer
The sharing of time, talents and skills is of utmost importance. Opportunities arise for people to help with tasks, serve on committees and help with events. Providing leadership within the church is always welcomed. Being engaged in the activities of the church enhances your spiritual experience.
Join a committee such as the Worship Committee. Greet, usher or read scripture at a service. Join the choir. Host coffee hour after services. Lead or help with a fundraising event. Help with community events. Become a member of the technology team livestreaming services. Provide leadership within the church or for single events. Suggest new ideas on how to serve the needs of our community.
These givings are recognized continually and are an important part of ongoing Stewardship throughout the church year. To get involved contact the office.
Financial Giving
Financial donations to the general operations of church may be given in five ways:
- loose money on the offering plate each Sunday,
- the use of giving envelopes placed on the offering plate on Sundays,
- using PAR (Pre-Authorized Remittance),
- donations made online through the website and processed through Canada Helps and
- by Interac E-Transfer using e-mail address emucdonation@outlook.com
Donations may also be made through the website in support of special funds:
- Mission and Service – supporting the UCC’s national and international work
- Benevolent Fund – helping people within the local community
- Refugee Sponsorship
- The Deacon’s Cupboard – providing basic food to people within the community
- General Memorial Fund
- Ian MacRae Memorial Bursary – a bursary awarded to a post secondary student each year
- Lance Smith Music Fund – supporting special musical services
Tax receipts are issued for all donations with the exception of the loose givings.
