Lance Smith Music Fund

The Lance Smith Music Fund is a designated fund in memory of Lance Smith. Lance lived with a long-term disability and passed away at age 58 in 2015. Lance had a great interest in music and was a member of the Chancel Choir at EMUC.

The fund supports special music as a part of worship services or other musical events planned by EMUC.

Donations received at designated events will be added to the fund and individuals are invited to contribute to the fund at any time to help enrich the music program of EMUC. If you wish to make a donation, please put it in an envelope marked-Lance Smith Music Fund and place it on the offering plate on a Sunday morning or leave it in the office. The Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir is the adult choir of 12 -15 voices which adds to worship through music. It leads the congregational hymn singing each Sunday and also presents one or two anthems in praise to God. The choir practises on Thursday evenings from 7 – 9 pm. and performs most Sundays from September to mid-June. The choir takes a break one Sunday each month and in the summer months which gives an opportunity for small groups to provide music.

Impromptu and Off-the-Cuff

'Impromptu' and 'Off the Cuff' are women’s and men’s singing groups, respectively who wish to contribute music on an occasional basis. Rehearsal times are announced in the weekly bulletin and often occur after Sunday worship. These groups offer music at various special services and times throughout the church year.

Bell Choir

Several years ago, EMUC received a wonderful gift of a set of bells and chimes. We are still learning to play these and new people are always welcome. There is also an opportunity for someone to help lead this groups with our Director of Music. The bells are used at special services and play with the Chancel Choir to offer a different sound and way of praising God.
