Deacon's Cupboard

The Deacon’s Cupboard is an ecumenical food agency that serves those in need in our area. It is a joint venture of five congregations, Erin Mills United, St. Peter’s Erindale Anglican, St. Thomas a Becket Anglican, Erindale United, and Erindale Presbyterian. These five churches provide non- perishable food, money and volunteers to the Cupboard, which is housed in St. Peter’s. The Cupboard is open every Wednesday from 9:30 am to 1:00 p.m. and the last Monday night of every month from 5 to 7 p.m. to service over 200 families every month. As well as distributing food to the guests, our volunteers support them with the help of registered nurses and dieticians. In addition to our donated food, the Cupboard also receives food from the Mississauga Food Bank.

The Cupboard has been in operation since 2003 and has assisted 1497 families or in other words the support of over 4000 individuals in 2019. We are proud of the fact that all the money donated goes directly to the purchase of food; we have no paid helpers, and over a million pounds of food have been distributed.
